20TH ANNIVERSARY PRESS CONFERENCE OF ATLANTIC HALL, POKA, EPE
It has been twenty years of trials, twenty years of patience, twenty years of sacrifice and twenty years of joy for the founding mothers, members of staff and students of Atlantic Hall, Poka, Epe- a school founded by ten courageous women. Stepping into the grounds of the school, Atlantic Hall, you are immediately impressed with the serene atmosphere, the well laid out lawns ,the imposing school buildings and it is clear that much effort and money has been invested in this educational institution to encourage all the students to the achievement of educational excellence.

One of the students just recently won a full scholarship into one of the best educational institution in the world-the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).Osi umenyiora one of the pioneering students is one of the most successful athletes in the world broke a 16 year old record in his team, the New York Giants by setting an individual record with six sacks against Philadelphia.
Academic activities started off at the school's temporary site in Maryland estate where they stayed for fifteen years before relocating to the school's 30 hectares permanent site in Poka, Epe, Atlantic hall is a school with lot of story behind it, and a Success story it is. Today however, the school is twenty years old and a many activities have been organized between 26th of March and 4th of April 2009 to mark this great event
To kick off the week long activities, a press conference was held within the school premises in Epe. Present at this event were Chief (Mrs.) M. M. Okunowo (chairman Anniversary Committee), Ms. L. Aboderin (Trustee), Mr. M. E. Curnane (Principal), Mr. Agboke (vice principal) amongst others.
A brief history of the school was given by Chief (Mrs.) Okunowo, and detailed information on the activities lined up for the celebration.
Among the list of activities scheduled to hold during the week long celebration is a Thanksgiving service to hold on Sunday 29th March, 2009 at Our Saviours' Church Tafawa balewa, Lagos; and there will be a visit to Heart Of Gold Orphanage in Surulere on Tuesday, 31st . On the 3rd of April a grand gala Night/ Fund raising event at the Shell hall, Muson Centre. There the twenty years of the schools existence will be reviewed and celebrated while awards will be presented to deserving people who have helped to bring the school to its present status. At the gala night there will also be a launching of the fundraising for N 500m multipurpose sports complex for the school. Other events includes a visit to the Poka village elders and the school premises Speaking at the press conference, Chief Mrs Okunowo said that Atlantic Hall is one of the foremost schools in Africa giving excellent all round education.
